If you don’t know where you want to go, then it’s tough to figure out what you need to do to get there! Having an uber clear business vision helps you define what you want your life and your business to look like and feel like a year, or two, or five, down the road. It is the roadmap to your ultimate destination: The Life of Your Dreams!
Living a powerful purposeful life means living life on your terms, stepping up to be all that you are capable of, doing what you love, and getting paid well for it. Doesn’t that sound dreamy?! Well, it doesn’t have to be a dream. You can make this your reality.
Pause for a moment and ask yourself these questions:
What do you want in your life?
What would that look like or feel like?
How is it different than where you are today?
What are your BIG life goals?
What are your BIG business goals?
How will you know if you are on the path to achieving your goals?
WHAT IS IT COSTING YOU TO NOT LIVE YOUR POWERFUL PURPOSE?
Do your answers to these questions come easily to you or did you struggle to clearly articulate your responses?
Being able to clearly define what you want your life to look like is paramount for knowing what steps to take to get you there.
Your business vision is the big picture view of your business - the panorama of your life, including your business. It provides the framework for you to focus on the right things in your life and your work in this world: in other words, your desires and your dreams.
The key ingredient in any business vision is your Powerful Purpose. How do you know what your Powerful Purpose is? Well, there are some pointed questions you can ask yourself to begin defining this for yourself:
What do you LOVE to do that really FIRES YOU UP?
What is the change that you hope to bring into the world?
What do your friends and colleagues come to you with when they are seeking help or guidance?
There are many ways to find out what your Powerful Purpose is. And if you are still confused, I’d love to help you! Without clearly defining what you want you will flounder like a fish out of water - and your unique talents are far too important to this world to let that happen.
Having a business vision will benefit you in countless ways. It will help you determine your best next steps and where to focus your valuable time, money and energy. Having a vision, along with the goals that support that vision, will create a roadmap from where you are today and where you want to go in the future.
A business vision will also help keep you motivated and energized as you progress towards your goals. Even when the steps are hard. Starting a business takes work, dedication, and focus and not all the tasks are easy or enjoyable (because lets get real - it’s not all lollipops and rainbows!). Having a clear business vision will help you stay excited about your business and willing to take action even when the actions involved may not be comfortable or easy. It’s your constant reminder that YOU’VE GOT THIS!
